Photonic Quantum Computing

Quantum photonics will deliver disruptive information, communication and sensor technologies by harnessing quantum effects. Of the various approaches to quantum computing, photons are particularly appealing for their low-noise properties and ease of manipulation at the single qubit level. We report efforts to develop the key components—single photon sources and detectors, and reconfigurable waveguide circuits—and their integration and address issues surrounding.
